about

Monkey Nuts is the result of a magical jam session between The Margaret Hooligans and The Qwarks at the Cascade Creative Recovery center in Brighton, UK.

It was recorded in two takes, uses no AI that we are aware of, and the entire creative process was curated by Dirty Badger Overlord, Pedro Kerpuplink. As far as we can tell, the song is mostly about what happens when a very refined monkey discovers peanuts, or monkey nuts, as they are known in certain areas of the UK. It is a driving garage rock banger with flying guitar riffs, powerful rock vocals, and a delightful mellotron performance. In short, a wonderful transatlantic meeting of two bands to come up with something new that is reminiscent of both of them.

Monkey Nuts is the first of three singles that will be compiled into an EP, Piccadilly Flying Ant Circus. It will be available on all streaming platforms, The Margaret Hooligans website and both bands’ Bandcamp profiles on Friday, October 13, 2023. The accompanying music video will also be released on YouTube.

Ohh I'm gonna be ok
When I'm calling out your name
Get those monkey nuts
Get those monkey nuts
Ohhh I'm gonna feed my face
OHHHH

Ohhhh hey
